Fieldwork Chile & Bolivia

Artist-in-Residence with Valley Of The Possible in Chile

I am very happy to announce my participation in the pilot program 'Possibilities of a Valley' in the Araucania area in Chile. With a group of five participants, we will delve into the origin as well as the present and future ecology of the area, exploring both our individual research questions as well as shaping the format of this brand new residency program.

My research into ecological grief and the relationship between the changing landscape and our cultural identity will be central to my participation.

After my month-long residency period, I will be adding another month of traveling: first to the Atacama region in Chile, and then continuing my trip into Bolivia. The Atacama region is one of the driest places on earth and its mountains have never seen glaciers. Both Chile and Bolivia have a rich history in mining and indigenous people and culture prevail over western influence. My entire research trip is kindly supported by Mondriaan Fonds NL.

I will keep you up to date whenever I have acces to internet!
